FEET FIRST | SUMMER/FALL PARKS WALKING SERIES
Feet First hosts an annual walking series with the Neighborhood Walking Ambassador Program in collaboration with various City of Seattle departments. For the 2016 summer/fall series, Feet First collaborated with the Department of Parks and Recreation to showcase two neighborhoods in Southeast Seattle: New Holly and Rainier Beach. The Summer/Fall Parks Walking Series was in need of new recruitment and outreach towards community members in Southeast Seattle. I developed and designed the training manual in collaboration with Lisa Quinn, the executive director of Feet First.
Walking connects us with community. Walking is the most inclusive transportation modes being it is a healthy and sustainable way to get around that helps promote neighborhood safety and a sense of unity. When more people are out walking there are more eyes on the street, neighborhood pride, and social connections."
