LAND + FORM
LAND + FORM explores the relationship between society and their habitat. It is an interdisciplinary deconstruction of the environment in relation to the people who live there. Land as a designed form has crossed disciplines more than ever in recent years, due to expansive population growth and rapidly urbanizing cities. Seattle has been the poster child for urban growth in the United States for the past few years. The growth, coupled with the unique environment of the Pacific Northwest, allows it to become a unique site for exploration. The Site Design and Planning course in the Landscape Architecture program at the University of Washington has provided its students with the skills necessary to tackle design in Seattle and beyond. This photographic journal will document various Seattle sites in relation to the major themes of the department. Included are transparent overlays to diagram and deconstruct each photo."
